5 Tips on How To Reduce Belly Fat

January 30, 2017

We are very familiar with fat bellies all around us and are not really comfortable when one of those belies is ours. here are 5 tips on how to reduce belly fat.

  1. Activate your metabolism by starting the day with a healthy breakfast which contains proteins and fiber
    • TIP – Minimize refined sugar: Avoid sugary cereal, pancakes, pastries, instant oatmeal
  2.  Combat stress. Studies have shown that the secretion of cortisol (a hormone your body produces during times of stress) is correlated with an increase in belly fat.
    • cut down stress by having a good sleep of at least 7 hours. Stop using cellphones or computers 30min before bedtime. Separate your work space from your sleeping space.
    • Make time to relax
    • Leave worries behind
  3. Walk
    • walk everywhere: to school , work, church, market, grocery . By walking you burn calories
  4. Replace refined grains with whole grains in your diet
    • Whole grains are high in fiber, which makes you feel full longer. This will help you eat less and help you lose weight
    • Avoid white grains. For instance, eat brown wheat bread instead of over-processed white bread, and favor wild brown rice over white rice.
    • Reduce alcohol, sugary drinks (like sweet tea, fruit punch, fruit juice, Coke, 7-Up, Pepsi and all the diet drinks) and carbonated beverages.
  5. Drink plenty of water.
    • Water helps activate your metabolism
    • If you are not a cardiac or kidney patient drink at least 2 liters of water every day. Otherwise ask your doctor
