Passing Gas? Bloating? Cramps? Use Peppermint

November 8, 2015

Peppermint has properties which may reduce bloating, stomach gas and flatulence(passing out air). Peppermint acts as an  antispasmodic and relaxant on stomach and intestinal muscles as well as the gall bladder and bile ducts. This eases passage of food and digestion and in so doing reduces bloating and cramps.

Peppermint tea is generally milder than peppermint oil capsules. A cup of tea before meals twice a day is recommended. Strong peppermint tea or oil is usually not advised for pregnant women, very young children or people with heart disease, ulcers or problems with reflux and heartburn. If in doubt, talk to your doctor.
